Lebanon house gutted; cause still unclear

SOUTH LEBANON - Fire gutted a vacant Lebanon home early Monday morning.

The call came in to Lebanon Fire and EMS just before 6 a.m. for a house on fire at the corner of Carl Broggi Highway and Ryefield Road.

When crews arrived fire and smoke were billowing out of the structure, which was unoccupied and for sale.

A second alarm was sounded for additional manpower, with units from Alfred, Berwick, and Rochester and Milton, assisting at the scene.

Carl Broggi Highway was shut down to one lane of traffic in order for fire crews to battle the blaze, according to Lebanon Fire and EMS.

The cause of the fire is being investigated the state's Fire Marshall's Office.
