Lebanon man hit with another theft indictment

LEBANON - A Lebanon man indicted on 11 felony theft counts in July was indicted on yet another theft charge this week.

In the most recent indictment Richard A. Dixon Jr. is charged in the theft of more than $1,000 in an incident that occurred on Sept. 30 in Lebanon, according to court records.

On Aug. 19 Dixon was arrested after allegedly promising to fix another man's two vehicles than turning them in at a Rochester auto recycler to be crushed for cash.

Dixon, 34, of 308 Chick Road, was charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, a Class C felony in connection with the August case.

At the time of that arrest Dixon was already serving time at the Alfred Jail after being arrested in July on Chick Road for allegedly driving as a habitual offender as well as a probation violation.

Meanwhile, Dixon faces up to 55 years in prison stemming from his July indictment on 11 theft charges, which occurred between July 2014 and January of this year.

Those charges were filed by Sanford Police for thefts that allegedly occurred in Sanford.

Dixon also faces an additional five years on the July operating after suspension charge. The latest indictment also carried up to a five-year sentence.

The York County grand jury indictments were handed down Wednesday and released on Thursday.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that a grand jury has found sufficient evidence to move forward to trial.

Dixon, meanwhile, is currently incarcerated at the Maine Correctional Center in Windham.
