LEBANON - A Lebanon man was injured today when a school bus carrying one student collided with his vehicle after the bus failed to stop at a stop sign, police say.

There were no injuries on the bus, however, John Izzarelli, 20, was taken to Southern Maine Medical Center in Sanford with minor injuries.

Maine State Police Trooper John Darcy said the bus driver, Roberta Sanborn, 80, of Lebanon, did not come to a complete stop at an intersection on Center Road and drove into the path of the car.

The crash took place at 7:45 a.m. Luckily, the only student on the bus was a 9-year-old boy who was accompanied by an adult assistant.

The bus suffered minor front-end damage, while the car, a 2010 Subaru Impreza, had to be towed from scene.

Sanborn was not cited.
