Lebanon voting called brisk by mid-morning

LEBANON - Voting in Lebanon today began slowly but turned more brisk around 10 a.m., according to Lebanon Town Clerk Mandy Grenier.

She thinks the real rush will come in the late afternoon.

The polls at the Lebanon Elementary School opened at 6 a.m. and will be open until 8 p.m.

Lebanon voters have much to decide today, including the funding of the town's rescue and fire departments whose budgets for the first time include per diem staffing.

Voters will also decide if they want to combine the two departments.

Selectman candidate Corinna Cole awaits to greet voters today as they head into the polls at the Lebanon Elementary School.

There are also two questions on a town manager, one that asks if residents want to switch to the town manager form of government and one on whether they want to fund the position, which includes a $60,000 annual salary plus expenses.
