ROCHESTER - A Lebanon woman is facing felony drug and firearms charges following her arrest by Rochester Police in East Rochester in the early morning hours last Thursday.
Jillian Ham, 44, of Lebanon, Maine, was taken into custody around 1:30 a.m. on May 21 after officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle on Highland Street that did not have its headlights on, according to a statement from Rochester Police Capt. Jeremy Aucoin on Wednesday.
"Officers identified the driver as Jillian Ham, and while checking her license status they learned that Jillian's license was suspended in New Hampshire," Aucoin said.
Once under arrest Ham told police that there was a loaded firearm in her purse," Aucoin added.
Due to having the controlled drugs and a firearm, Ham was charged with felonious use of a firearm for being in possession of drugs while having a firearm.
She was also charged with possession of controlled drugs, also a felony, as well as misdemeanor driving after revocation and possession of prescription drugs without a valid prescription.
Both felonies carry the potential for sentences of three and a half to seven years in state prison. The driving after revocation and unauthorized prescription possession charges are both misdemeanors that carry up to a year in county jail apiece.
Ham was released on personal recognizance pending an arraignment.
