Dear Patrons,
The Milton Free Public Library will reopen for library patrons when we can fulfill the COVID-19 directives from the State of New Hampshire and the Town of Milton. We will rely on good scientific data for the safety of our staff and patrons. We are working to procure appropriate materials to ensure the safe handling of library materials by both staff and patrons. Until we can fulfill these criteria the library will continue to be closed to the public. Please read below for some ways in which our librarians are keeping the spirit of the library alive online, and thank you for your support and patience.
Sincerely,
Ann Nute, Chair

Every Friday afternoon we gather together via Facebook Messenger to talk about what we accomplished during the week and what we will take on in the coming week. Together, we are keeping our Facebook page populated with interesting links, updating our website, cleaning up our online catalog for when we do re-open, and bringing you exciting new services like Hoopla (read below!). We miss seeing our patrons, and we hope you will reach out to us through Facebook or email to get in touch if there is anything we can do for you, or just to say hello. We look forward to re-opening safely when the time comes. Until then we will continue to do as much as we can to keep you and your families engaged at home.
** Welcome to Hoopla

In an ongoing effort to provide Milton residents with quality material during our closure, Milton Free Public Library is happy to announce our membership with Hoopla.
Hoopla is an online library that offers over 750,00 items: ebooks, audio books, comic books, graphic novels, movies and music with no wait lists.
This service is available only to Milton residents. If you do not currently have a Milton Free Public Library card, please contact us at mfpl@metrocast.net.
Each card holder is limited to four transactions per month, but Hoopla offers additional materials that do not count against your limit, and you can find those via this link: https://miltonfreepubliclibrary.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=edcb6918a5b95b583f64951d8&id=39b79264e8&e=e62757964d
To get started, visit Hoopla (https://miltonfreepubliclibrary.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=edcb6918a5b95b583f64951d8&id=0caa499d81&e=e62757964d) and click "Get Started Today". Visit from your browser, or download the app for your phone or tablet. You will need an email address, and the barcode number from your library card and your pin. Follow the on-screen instructions and be in touch if you need help.
We hope you will enjoy this new library service while the stay-at-home order is in place. Let us know what you think!
