ROCHESTER - Summer is finally here, well, almost, and the Library will have a lot going on for the whole family. Check our social media for pop-up children's programs! Sign up and learn Beanstack so you can find out how to log your summer reading. Watch for our summer themed recommendation animations on our Facebook and Instagram feeds!

Community Puzzle
Our Programming Librarian, Abby, has come up with great speakers, created Adult Take-it & Make-it crafts, started a True Crime Book Club and also a Community Jigsaw Puzzle! There is a new puzzle now set up on the top floor. It is a 1,000-piece puzzle with a Las Vegas theme. Stop by and join in!

Introduction to Beanstack
Do you want to participate the library's summer reading programs? Join us for a presentation on how to use Beanstack, the program being used for all our summer reading programs this year. On Wednesday June 1, at 3 pm in the community room Jessica will teach us all about using Beanstack to log our summer reading and collect prizes. To register for the class, visit or call the Main Desk at 603-332-1428 ext. 2 or email rplreference@rochesternh.net. If you cannot make it to the class but still want to learn how to use Beanstack, feel free to call and make an individual tech-help appointment for another time.
RPL Animated Recommendations
Main Desk Librarian (and syndicated cartoonist) Stephanie and Main Desk Librarian, Karyl, have created a series of weekly animated videos recommending book, DVD and other titles available at the Library and featuring all new summer themed animations. Check them out on our website, Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Children's Room Pop-Up Programming: We will be offering Pop-Up programming outdoors on the lawn through mid-June. Pop-Up programs will be announced on our Facebook page and Instagram by 9:15 am the morning of, and email subscribers will get a notification in their inbox. The Summer Reading Program: the SRP theme is "Oceans of Possibility". The program begins Monday, June 13 and will run for seven weeks until July 24th. A calendar of summer events will be available toward the end of May at the Children's Room desk and on the library website. All Children aged 2 and up are welcome regardless of their reading abilities or any other limitations. If you have any questions please ask us: call 335-7549.
SRP Kickoff: Join us for a Summer Reading Program kickoff on the lawn from 2:30-4:00 pm on Wednesday, June 15. We will have ice cream, a Storywalk™ and a visit with Rochester Police Deptartment Community Engagement Officer Brandon Kimbrough. Should inclement weather occur we will have a smaller event inside the Children's Room.
Beanstack logging: We will use Beanstack again for logging minutes read. Register on the website rplnhreads.beanstack.org or download the Beanstack App on the Play or App store. Log what you read and be eligible to win prizes. The program will run for 7 weeks, ending Friday, July 29. All children aged 2 and up are welcome regardless of their reading abilities or any other limitations. If you have any questions, please ask us.
Red Cart Book Sale: The Little Red Book Sale Cart on the first floor has become a destination for our patrons and others visiting the Library! Stop by next time you're in an see what surprises we have for sale that day.
Library Podcast: Tune in for a Library Podcast featuring RPL director Marie Lejeune and Patron Services Supervisor Katherine Parker-Wright. Lejeune and Wright invite listeners to enjoy twice-monthly, light-hearted conversations full of humor, information, interviews, and much more. The podcast is available on a variety of podcast platforms including Spotify, Google, and RadioPublic. A link to the podcast can also be found on the Library website (www.rpl.lib.nh.us).
Friends of the Library Book Club
Join us the 2nd Monday of the month at 1:00 pm in the Biography Room on the Main Floor of the Library. Our next title is A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. Copies of the book are available at the Main Desk. Call 602-332-1428 ext. 2 with any questions.
Inter-Library Loans
If you're looking for a book, DVD, audiobook or other item and can't find it in our catalog, just fill out an Inter-library loan slip and our super ILL Librarian, Donna, will stop at nothing to track it down for you! New patrons will have to wait 3 months to request an item from another library.
Your Library Holds
If you signed up for email notifications for your holds for library items you won't receive an additional phone call unless you specifically request it. We know people are busy and we don't want to add to your day with extra phone messages. Patrons who only want to be notified with a phone call will continue to receive our calls and messages. We are always happy to talk to you and let you know when your items are ready for you! Let us know your preference.
