Local virus numbers, statewide hospitalizations continue spike

CONCORD - Local current case numbers in Rochester and Dover have more than doubled in just the last 10 days, with Rochester now at 54 cases and Dover at 74, compared to Rochester's 23 and Dover's 33 back on Nov. 2.

Other local town have also seen spikes with Somersworth at 12 and Barrington and Farmington now at 10. Milton remains at 1-4, while Strafford has none.

Statewide, DHHS announced 222 new positive test results for COVID-19 on Tuesday with a rising PCR test positivity rate of 2.0 percent.

The new cases include 29 minors and 12 from Strafford County.

Two new hospitalized cases were reported for a current total of 64, up from 38 on Nov. 2.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for a Rochester nursing home said the COVID-19 case identified on Tuesday as being an elderly woman living there was a past resident who had moved out of the facility some time ago.

The Studley Home spokesperson, who did not want their name in the paper, said there are no coronavirus cases at the facility now, and there haven't been any there since the spring.

It should be noted that The Rochester Voice reached out to confirm the case on Tuesday, but no officials from the Studley Home returned messages requesting comment.

The list of Rochester cases was released to The Voice by local EOC officials.
