ROCHESTER - Lorraine M. "Babe" Kuchulis McHugh, 80, died after a courageous battle with cancer at Hyder House with her family by her side on Friday, Dec. 9, 2016.
Lorraine was born in Lowell, Mass., on Dec. 1, 1936, to Peter and Orina (Chretien) Kuchulis. Her family moved to Dover at young age.
Lorraine was an all state cheerleader for Dover High School. She was a licensed cosmetologist, a mixologist and along with her husband a long haul truck driver. She was an accomplished horsewoman and had a special place in her life for all animals and especially the underdog. She was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan.
Lorraine's hobbies were boating in both New Hampshire and Florida, shelling, bingo, knitting and dining out. She enjoyed outings to the casinos and playing cards and cribbage with her friends.
Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, her husband, William "Mac" McHugh, sisters, Doris Maty, Pauline Abraham, Shirley Gagnon, and her brother-in law Donald Abraham.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Elenor Gitschier of Dover, Peter Gitschier of Berwick, Kimberly A. Boston of Rochester, Shawn D. McKay of Dover, and her granddaughter Jennifer B. Boston from Washington, D.C. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and her special nieces, Donna Abraham and Jane Williams, and her two fur babies, Dini and Matilda.
