ROCHESTER - Lorraine Marie (Pelletier) Elkinson, 84, of Rochester, NH, died peacefully at Birch Healthcare Center on July 10 after a battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.

She was born in Rochdale Mass., on January 1, 1937, the daughter of Alexander and Juliette Pelletier. She spent her childhood years growing up in Oxford, Mass., before getting married in 1961 to Edward Walter Elkinson. Immediately following their wedding, Lorraine and Ed moved to France and Germany for 4 years where their 3 children were born. They returned to the US and lived in Georgia before settling down in Rochester in 1966.

Lorraine enjoyed camping and gardening all of her life. Her hobbies included oil painting, knitting, crafting and candlepin bowling but she felt her greatest accomplishment in life was raising three boys.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Edward Elkinson; 3 sons, Mark and is wife Liz of Saco, Maine; Brian and his wife Audrey of Barrington; Keith and his wife Chris of North Grosvenordale Conn.

She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Robert Elkinson, Andrew Elkinson, Marissa Elkinson and Alexis Elkinson.

Her surviving sister is Cecile LeBoeuf and her husband Raymond of North Carolina.

Her surviving brother is Albert Pelletier and his wife Alice of California.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents and brothers Ronald and Roger Pelletier and sister Jackie Fournier.
