ROCHESTER - Lorraine Parker, 81, died Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Rochester Manor. Lorraine was born in Rochester on September 5, 1935, the daughter of Jeannette and Homer Parker.
She attended East Rochester Grammar school and graduated from Spaulding High School. She loved school and enjoyed many sports; participating in softball, skiing, skating, tumbling and much more. She took her younger brother to school and watched over him throughout their school years.
Lorraine grew up on Portland Street in a home her father built. Lorraine continued to live in the homestead most of her lifetime while caring for her brother and mother until they both passed on.
She had a love for animals and owned many dogs over the years. Her heart and thoughts were always about her family. When Lorraine went to business school in Boston, she promised she would take care of them when she returned, which she did for many years. She unselfishly gave herself to her family, relatives, friends, and her animals. Lorraine worked hard with household chores and upkeep of the property all while continuing to work well into her seventies and made many friends in her working relationships over the years, and will be sorely missed by them as well as her many cousins and their families.
