ROCHESTER - Lorraine I. Ward, 87 of Rochester, died Wednesday August 18, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Lorraine was born on July 3, 1934 in Rochester, the daughter of George (Pete) Aime and Diana (Dolbec) Lachapelle.

She was a lifelong resident of Rochester and a graduate of Holy Rosary High School, Class of 1953. She was also a long time communicant of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.

Lorraine worked for Mayberry Shoe, then became a housewife and mother and later worked as Head Cook for Rochester Catholic/St. Elizabeth Seton School, retiring in 1999 after 28 years of service.

Lorraine loved going out to eat, and playing cards, but most of all, Lorraine loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, family members and friends.

Lorraine is predeceased by her husband Richmond E. Ward Jr. of 50 years and, her brother Ronald G. Lachapelle. Surviving members of her family are her 3 daughters, Denise Carver of Rochester, Susan Beatrice and her spouse Marty of Lebanon, Maine, Carol Cunningham and her spouse David of Farmington, and her 6 grandchildren Kyle Cassily, Marissa Cassily, Morgan Cunningham, Meredith Ivey, Dan Beatrice and Matt Beatrice and several nieces and nephews.
