BREWER, Maine - Lucille G Holmberg, formerly of Rochester, N.H., died April 27, 2020, of advanced dementia.

She was born March 14, 1925, a daughter of Thomas and Georgianna Richard.

She enjoyed square dancing and golfing. She traveled abroad and on cruise ships. She especially liked river cruises on paddle wheelers. She and her husband spent their winters in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, after retirement.

She leaves her daughter Carolyn Houle Gontoski and husband Wayne Gontoski of Greenbush, Maine, and son Ricky Houle of Harpswell, Maine. She leaves no surviving siblings. She was predeceased by her son Thomas Houle and step-daughter Beverly Holmberg. Her step-daughter Sandra Hall and daughter-in-law Catherine Lajoie-Houle have since died, in 2021. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, niece Betty Mucher of CA and nephews Rodney Gaskell of NH and Paul Martineau of GA. She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Gerard A. Houle, in May 1967. She was pre-deceased her second husband William B. Holmberg who died May 2011.
