BELMONT, Maine - Lyle Hartford, 93, died at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, April 27, 2017. He was born August 13, 1923, the son of Lyle F. Hartford and Josey (Glidden) Hartford and was a longtime resident of Lebanon. He moved to Belmont in 2003 and resided with his youngest daughter and her husband.
Lyle served in the United States Army 15th Medical Depot Company during World War II. He was married to the late Barbara (Richardson) Hartford for 49 years. Lyle worked at Rigazo's in Rochester, New Hampshire and later for the University of New Hampshire. After he retired from the university, he worked at the Pallet Shop for seventeen years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and belonged to the James Farrington-Pleiades Chapter Order of Eastern Star #7 in Rochester, New Hampshire.
Lyle is survived by his seven children: Galen, Steven, and Ronald Wilson, Lori Lauckner, Patty Lee, Paula Dunn and Susan Littlefield; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
He married a woman with six children and then they had one together. All of them loved him dearly.
