Main Street annual meeting, awards ceremony set for March 18

ROCHESTER - Rochester Main Street will host its Annual Meeting and Downtown Awards on March 18 at 7:45 a.m. at the newly renovated Creteau Technology Center of Spaulding High School in Rochester. The local nonprofit organization will provide 2019 results and 2020 expectations to downtown stakeholders, then recognize outstanding businesses and individuals who positively impacted the district in 2019.

Those with a vested interest in downtown Rochester are invited to attend the event and learn more about the Main Street organization and its missions. Doors open at 7:45 a.m. Complimentary breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. with the meeting and awards ceremony to follow.

"We always welcome the opportunity to explain how the Main Street program is focused on downtown," said Angela Mills, Executive Director of Rochester Main Street. "We love being able to recognize those who substantially contribute to the district's health and vitality."

Award categories include the Golden Pitchfork for beautifying a natural or social area of downtown, the Golden Hammer for improvements to the built infrastructure, Stewardship for making a significant and lasting commitment to the district, Volunteer of the Year, and more. This year, Main Street will present nine awards to downtown champions.
