Maine police probe two suspicious death up Downeast

BROOKLIN, Maine - Maine's Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate a pair of suspicious deaths today after two bodies were found on Sunday at a home in Brooklin.

Hancock County Sheriff's Office deputies responded Sunday afternoon to a home in Brooklin and discovered two deceased individuals under suspicious circumstances. Major Crimes Unit North Detectives were called to assist in the investigation as were Evidence Response Technicians, according to press release sent out by the Dept. of Safety on Sunday afternoon.

The bodies of the deceased were transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta where autopsies will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death as well as to determine official identification.

There is no danger to the public at this time, according to law officials.

The Maine State Police were assisted by the Hancock County Sherriff's Office and the Maine Warden Service.

State Police did not give the name of the road where the bodies were found, because next of kin has not been notified.
