OSSIPEE - A Maine woman was arrested on multiple charges, including DWI and resisting arrest, after speeding more than 100 mph on Route 25.
State Police got involved when they were notified around 10:25 p.m. on Wednesday that a vehicle was traveling 107 mph in a posted 55 mph zone on Route 25 westbound in Center Ossipee.
State Police located the vehicle, a 2024 Hyundai Venue, and conducted a traffic stop, according to a Dept. of Safety Press release sent out on Thursday. The driver of the Hyundai was identified as Alisha Bernice Timmons, 36, of Portland, Maine.
During the traffic stop, Timmons showed signs of impairment and was ultimately taken into custody. She was transported to the Carroll County House of Corrections to be processed.
Timmons has been charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated (DWI), resisting arrest, criminal mischief, breach of bail, and open container.
