Man accused of killing Concord couple found guilty of second-degree murder

CONCORD - The man accused of killing a Concord couple in April 2022 was found guilty on Monday of four counts of second-degree murder, one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and four counts of falsifying physical evidence.

Logan Clegg, 27, was found guilty of both knowingly and recklessly causing the deaths of Stephen and Djeswende Reid on April 18, 2022, while the retired couple was out for a walk on a trail near their residence in Concord.

The verdict was returned by the jury after around three weeks of trial.

"Today our thoughts are with Stephen and Djeswende Reid, their family, and all those who knew and loved them," said Attorney General John Formella. "I extend my sincere thanks to the trial team and our law enforcement partners, especially the Concord Police Department, for their excellent work on this case. Going forward we at the Department of Justice will continue our work to protect the public and seek justice."

Both victims died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Clegg will be sentenced on Dec. 15 at Merrimack Superior Court in Concord. The defendant will be held without bail pending sentencing.
