Man gets DWI after found passed out at eatery drive-thru

ROCHESTER - A Farmington man was arrested on Friday for drunken driving, open container and as a habitual offender after police say he was passed out at a Rochester fast food drive-up window.

Police say they were called to the McDonald's on Wakefield Street a little before 11 p.m. for a male "passed out" at the drive-through.

After a field sobriety test was administered Jeffrey James Smith, 48, of 511 Ten Rod Road, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor transportation of alcoholic beverages and DWI and being a habitual offender, a felony.

Habitual offender classification is a result of a series of convictions for motor vehicle offenses.
