YORK, Maine - A 33-year old man has been arrested in the Wednesday stabbing of a man in York, police said on Friday.
The incident unfolded around 7:24 p.m, when York Police Communications received a call from York Hospital regarding an individual who had just been dropped off and was suffering from multiple stab wounds. York Hospital personnel were able to provide a description of the truck that the victim was dropped off from.
York Police officers responded to the hospital, while another officer began searching for the subject vehicle. The victim was transported from York Hospital to Portsmouth Regional Hospital due to the severity of his injuries. One of the patrol officers was able to provide a Quikclot wound dressing to the hospital ER staff which was applied to the one victim with stab wounds before transport, according to a press release from Det. Sgt. Thomas Cryan of York Police, who said all York Police officers carry Quikclot while on duty.
Meanwhile, patrol officers were able to locate the vehicle at 272 Route 1, where Kittery Police also responded to assist due to the number of individuals that were located at the residence. Two individuals at the scene were initially detained while officers gathered more information regarding the incident.
Both individuals were later transported to the York Police Department to be interviewed. It was later determined that one of the detained individuals, who was located hiding in the woods, had run from the home because the suspect was trying to stab him.
After interviewing both individuals and the victim at the hospital Tevian Barron, 33, no hometown given, was charged with elevated aggravated assault, a Class A crime and aggravated reckless conduct, a Class B crime.
Barron was transported to York County Jail and held without bail.
