ALFRED, Maine - A Springvale man has been indicted in a South Lebanon domestic violence case.

Charles Austin, 30, of 300 Blanchard Road, is charged with assaulting a female at the Evergreen Mobile Home Park on Route 202.

Austin shoved the victim up against the wall and threw her on a bed during a Jan. 15 incident, said Maine State Police Trooper Kyle Wells.

He said the victim escaped to a neighbor's home to avoid further abuse, and was shaken up but did not require medical transport.

Austin has a prior conviction for domestic assault from 2008.

The Class C felony charge could land him in state prison for up to 5 years.

The York County grand jury indictment was handed down Wednesday.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been presented to warrant a trial.
