Man killed in head-on Wakefield crash identified as Middleton man

WAKEFIELD - The man who died in a head-on collision on White Mountain Highway (Route 125) in Wakefield last Saturday has been identified as a Middleton man.

Wilson Woodrow Tufts was killed when Wakefield Police say he was operating a vehicle headed northbound just north of the Union intersection, crossed the center line and collided head-on with a southbound vehicle.

The crash occurred around 11:20 a.m. Tufts was pronounced dead at the scene.

Erick Laboy, of Loxahatchee, Fla., the driver in the southbound car, was transported to Huggins Hospital where he was treated for unspecified injuries.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Wakefield Police Department.
