Man killed in officer-involved shooting in Meredith

CONCORD - A 35-year man was shot and killed by a Meredity Police Officer on Sunday, the Attorney Generals Office announced earlier today.

The shooting occurred at at 10 Bennett Drive in Meredith.

David Donovan was shot by a Meredith Police Officer and died as a result of his injuries after being transported to Lakes Regional General Hospital. An autopsy is scheduled for today.

Three other individuals sustained injuries at the scene prior to police arrival. One of the individuals, an adult male, was transported for medical treatment and remains hospitalized in stable condition.

No officers were physically injured and there is no threat to the public, according to a statement from the AG's office. Pursuant to protocol, the name of the officer involved in the incident is being withheld pending the conclusion of the formal interview.

The investigation remains ongoing and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
