DOVER - A homeless man known to frequent the Rochester area has been indicted in an armed robbery that occurred earlier this summer.
Evan Post, who turns 34 today, is accused of robbing a man in Dover on June 23, during which Post committed the crime by using "physical force on (the victim) by grabbing ... (his) neck," according to court documents.
Post, who is known for his aggressive panhandling, was the first person to be arrested under Rochester's panhandler ordinance in November 2015.
He is frequently noted on Rochester's police logs for arrests on disorderly conduct and criminal trespass charges.
In the Dover armed robbery, which allegedly began as a panhandling request, Post could face up to 15 years in prison and a $4,000 fine if convicted.
The Strafford County grand jury indictments were handed down on Aug. 17 and released last week.
An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been presented to warrant a trial.
