Man who killed Concord couple gets life in prison

CONCORD - The man accused of killing a Concord couple in 2022 received what amounts to a a life sentence in state prison.

Logan Clegg, 27, was found guilty of second degree murders in the deaths of Stephen and Djeswende Reid on April 18, 2022. He was also sentenced on four counts of falsifying physical evidence and one count of being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon. A jury found Clegg guilty on Oct 23.

"Justice has been served today. The defendant is being held accountable for his crimes. I hope the sentences handed down can bring some closure to the family and loved ones of Stephen and Djeswende Reid," said Attorney General John Formella. "I want to express my sincere appreciation for the excellent work by our trial team and our law enforcement partners, especially the Concord Police Department."

Clegg was given stand-committed sentences of 50 years to life on the Second Degree Murder charges, to be served consecutively. Clegg was sentenced to 31/2 to 7 years on each of the remaining charges, to be served concurrently with each other and consecutive to the first second degree murder charge.
