A Canaan man without a driver's license is facing up to seven years in state prison following his Tuesday arrest on felony reckless conduct charges after leading police on a high speed chase on Interstate 93.

The incident unfolded around 10:35 p.m. when a New Hampshire State Trooper attempted to stop a motor vehicle on Interstate 93 North near the area of the Interstate 89 junction.

The vehicle failed to stop and increased its speed headed north till the vehicle exited the interstate off Exit 14. The vehicle then turned onto Loudon Road in Concord heading East, driving recklessly at speeds up to 90 mph and passing through a red light through an intersection.

The pursuit was terminated due to the dangers it presented to the public as well as those involved in the pursuit. Immediately after the pursuit was terminated, the vehicle pulled into a McDonald's parking lot off Loudon Road where a trooper again attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop. The lone operator of the vehicle attempted to flee on foot, but was quickly corralled by other responding troopers and taken into custody without further incident.

Vicente Delarosa, 24, was charged with disobeying an officer, reckless driving, felony reckless conduct, violation of a traffic control device and operating without a valid license.

He was later released on personal recognizance (no cash) bail pending an arraignment on Jan. 6 at Merrimack County Superior Court.

If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they are asked to contact Trooper Brandon Rivard at 603-223-6195 or email at Brandon.J.Rivard@DOS.NH.GOV.
