CONCORD - One person was arrested following a wrong-way head-on crash on Interstate 93 in Concord.
State Police got involved around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday when State Police dispatch started receiving reports of a wrong-way driver on I-93 northbound by Exit 12. While Troopers from the Troop D barracks were responding, they received an update about a reported head-on crash.
When troopers arrived on the scene they found a 2023 Jeep Wrangler disabled in the right travel lane by Exit 12S. The other vehicle involved in the crash, a 2011 black Chevrolet Silverado, was disabled in the right breakdown lane by Exit 12N.
The driver and lone occupant of the Jeep was identified as Sandra Ouellette, 57, of Manchester, according to a Dept. of Safety press release sent on Tuesday. Ouellette was arrested on charges of DUI, criminal mischief, and reckless conduct. She was released on personal recognizance and will be arraigned in Concord District Court on Oct. 10.
Neither driver suffered injuries. Traffic on I-93 northbound was diverted off Exit 12S for one hour while the crash scene was investigated and cleared of debris.
Troopers were assisted on the scene by members of the Bow Police Department and Concord Fire Department.
Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Trooper Michael Pauley at Michael.D.Pauley@dos.nh.gov.
