Marcia Lee Murray ... longtime educator; at 78

DOVER - Marcia Lee Murray, 78, was born February 19, 1943 in Dover to Raymond F. and Eleanor (Towle) Bohan. She died peacefully at her home in Riverview, Fla., on Nov. 24, 2021, after a brief illness. Marcia enjoyed a wonderful childhood in Dover. As a young girl, she knew that she wanted to become a schoolteacher and could often be found playing "teacher" with the neighborhood children. Over the years, Marcia was blessed to teach many children at schools in Wheaton, Ill., Lafayette, Ind., Hanover and Old Town, Maine. Growing up, she spent many happy summers at the family camp that her father built on Shaw's Pond, swimming, fishing and enjoying the sunshine.

In 1960 she graduated from Dover High School, and in 1964 from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Elementary Education. Marcia met her husband of fifty-five years, Stephen, at a Halloween party in Hanover - the beginning of a tried-and-true partnership. They lived much of her married life in Orono, Maine, where Marcia enjoyed motherhood, family, camping, boating, and canoeing. Her later years were spent in Florida, being a wonderful "Nana" and teacher to her two grandsons Connor and Cameron.

She will be missed by her husband Stephen, of Riverview Fla., one daughter, Karen White and her husband Peter of Apollo Beach, Fla, Two grandsons, Connor and Cameron White of Apollo Beach, a brother, Peter R. Bohan of Bath, Maine, and many nieces and nephews.

Marcia loved her extended family and lifelong friends and was blessed with many across New England, Florida, and the entire US! We are thankful for all of those who were a part of Marcia's happiness over the years.
