FARMINGTON - Margaret (Dumont) Hayes, 98, died June 14, 2021 at her most recent residence with family in Natalia, Texas.

She was the daughter of Alfred Dumont and Eva (Sevigne) Dumont. Margaret joined the WAC corps in 1944 and was stationed at Barcksdale, La., where she was honorably discharged. After returning to Somersworth, she married Maurice Hayes, Jr. They had one daughter Jane Hayes-Beck, who predeceased her mother in 2015. Margaret was employed over her life at Vic's Diner, Fowler Rubber, and GE where she retired from. She and husband Maurice Hayes, Jr. opened Wagon Wheel Diner. She then purchased Joan Groceries in Somersworth. Volunteering her services to be a courier at a bank, also, working as a poll worker for the Town of Farmington.

Margaret served most of her life as a Eucharistic minister and member of the Ladies Guild of St. Peter's Church in Farmington. Also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagle's in Somersworth and the Farmington American Legion.

Other members of her family are her 4 grandchildren, great grandchildren, also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 9 siblings.
