MILTON - Marjorie Vesta (McGonagle) Collins of Milton died peacefully on December 23, 2021. Marjorie was pre-deceased by her parents, Joseph P McGonagle and Mildred V (Chates) McGonagle and her daughter, Candace A Sterling.

She was born on March 4, 1936.

She is survived by her husband of more than 63 years, Bernard F Collins; daughter Danette L Walker and her husband Thomas E Walker of Converse, Texas; son, Bernard F Collins, II of Chantilly, Va; son, Brian A. Collins and his wife Pauline L (Ellis) Collins of Palm Bay, Fla.; son-in-law, Timothy F. Sterling of Houston, Texas; daughter, Sharon P Collins of Houston, and son Shawn P Collins and his wife Paula (Ciccotelli) Collins of Pembroke. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Melissa Collins, David Collins with his wife Brittany, Vanessa Collins, Jessica (Collins) Ozeck with her husband Luke, Monica Walker with her partner Jay, Zachary Collins and Christopher Walker with his wife Katie as well as seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Doris M (McGonagle) Milo and her partner Ollie, brother Joseph T McGonagle and brother John McGonagle and his wife Sandra J (Tilton) McGonagle as well as numerous nieces and nephews, in-laws and cousins.

Veteran of the United States Air Force

Volunteer with Military Family Services which provides numerous types of assistance to military families.

Volunteer with Girl Scouts of America with whom she served as Troop Leader and Director

Belonged to Square Dance Clubs in Karamusel, Turkey, Dyess Air Force Base, Abilene, Texas and Lajas Field, Terceira Island, Azores.

Received, along with her husband, Commendation from President George W Bush for their dedication and service to the country.

Loved reading, knitting, sewing, quilting, cooking and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graduate of Laconia High School

Graduate of McMurray College with a BS in Social Work

Worked for the State of New Hampshire as a Social Worker in the Family and Child Welfare Division

Served as Director of Gerry's Food Pantry in Rochester, NH

She raised her six children while moving her family around the world with her husband's military assignments.

Recognized and blessed, along with her husband, by Pope Benedict XVI on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.

Her compassion and dedication to serving the needs of others gave her a lifetime passion for volunteerism
