ROCHESTER - Mark K. Taylor, 72, died peacefully at home on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021. Born Dec. 13, 1948, Mark was the son of Kenneth and Ruth (Babb) Taylor and beloved husband of 52 years to Patricia (Holmes) Taylor. He will be remembered for his laid-back personality, dry sense of humor and mustache-lined smile.
He leaves behind his wife Patty and two daughters; Cori Connelly and husband Kevin, and Jennifer Govoni and husband Todd, as well as five grandchildren; Quinn, Cal, Cade, Jake and Greta.
Mark grew up in Rochester, graduating from Spaulding High School in 1967 and played bass guitar with the Reactions. His love of music remained throughout his early life, often hosting jam sessions with band members. His grandchildren loved to experiment with the instruments at his house.
He enjoyed boating and fishing on New Hampshire lakes with his wife Patty and family members. They also enjoyed vacationing with Gail and Don Martin and Mike and Cathie Taylor. Despite his quiet personality, Mark would often catch you off guard with a quick one-liner to lighten the mood. Affectionately known as Blade, he was a loyal member of the Club Victoire and Elks Lodge #1393.
An electrical engineer, Mark worked at Harris Graphics and Goss International, before retiring from Heidelberg Harris. His artistic talents were always helpful with family projects and house renovations.
Mark is survived by his two sisters, Gail (Taylor) Martin and husband Don, and Lori Taylor, brother Mike Taylor and wife Cathie and sister-in-law Ada Taylor. He is predeceased by his parents, Kenny and Ruth, and his brother John Taylor.
