ROCHESTER - Matilda Rita "Bonnie" Bergeron, 92, of Rochester, died on May 28, 2021 at her home. Born Matilda Rossi in Philadelphia to Charles A. and Catherine (Ruggeri) Rossi, she graduated from South Philadelphia High School for Girls in 1946 and in 1987 received a BA degree from Antioch University in Philadelphia.
She taught at Southwark Elementary School in Philadelphia from 1976 to her retirement in 1992, whereupon she moved to NH, where for many years she was active in Community Theater, acting and singing in numerous productions, and in several choirs and barbershop singing groups. She was also a skilled pianist and painter, and for many years a member of the Wolfeboro Play Readers group.
She is survived by her husband Kevin Bergeron of Rochester; a son, Joseph C. Donato of Ventnor, NJ; two grandchildren; a great grandson; and two nephews. She is predeceased by her first husband Joseph R. Donato, of Philadelphia; and a brother, Charles Rossi, of Sicklerville, NJ.
