He wants to ensure that Rochester government treats its citizens like customers, not like a commodity.
He wants to diversify the tax base by seeking to develop the Skyhaven Airport property to lower the tax burden on residents.
He has a vision to work with RAMA, the owners of the Fairgrounds, to add an events venue similar to the Bank of NH Pavilion (formerly Meadowbrook) that would draw thousands to the city.
He is Matt Mayberry, the only Rochester mayoral candidate who has this kind of out-of-the-box vision that the city needs to move forward, while keeping in mind that the city's residents and taxpayers come first.
Mayberry, as a veteran and executive director of the NH Home Builders Association, knows how to be a team player and how to strive to bring consensus to the city's most pressing challenge.
He's not afraid to challenge city policies that hurt taxpayers, telling The Rochester Voice shorty after entering the mayoral campaign that he was horrified at the way the city handled the recent property reassessments on mobile home owners.
Matt Mayberry has also said he wants fewer backdoor meetings and more issues aired publicly, so citizen can see how and why their elected officials vote as they do ... and judge for themselves if they're working in the people's best interests.
As executive director of the New Hampshire Builders Association, Mayberry works with scores of companies that include builders, remodelers, and those who provide building-related services, as well as their employees and a network of six other statewide associations.
As NHBA chief, he's used to thinking outside-the-box and bringing folks together,
That's what Rochester needs.
The Rochester Voice endorses Matt Mayberry to be Rochester's next mayor.
Make sure to vote on Tuesday.
