MILTON MILLS -We never imagined being librarians from home! We miss seeing you at the library, helping you out with computer tasks, sending faxes, finding your children just the right book about owls, delivering all your interlibrary loan requests, and chatting about the latest books, DVDs, and news. This is so hard for all of us. We're updating our website with lots of free learning and entertainment links (https://miltonfreepubliclibrary.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=edcb6918a5b95b583f64951d8&id=ad5fd27138&e=e62757964d) to assist you through this tough time. We've renewed all your books through June 1 so that you can access NH Downloadable Books (https://miltonfreepubliclibrary.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=edcb6918a5b95b583f64951d8&id=7501a8156f&e=e62757964d) with ease, and we'll set up new patrons from Milton and Middleton with temporary library cards so that they can access the system as well. We've also debuted Facebook Live Bingo (https://miltonfreepubliclibrary.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=edcb6918a5b95b583f64951d8&id=25667b8e82&e=e62757964d) and are searching for other ways to keep us all connected. If you have an idea, or if there is something in particular we can do for you, please let us know! We are monitoring email regularly, and Facebook frequently. Please be in touch, be well, and we very much look forward to the day we can re-open the library!

** April is National Poetry Month
------------------------------------------------------------
Poetry really resonates with children, younger and older, if you give them a chance, and, ahem, maybe move past some of your own hesitations about poetry as a source of enjoyment. From simple childhood rhymes (https://miltonfreepubliclibrary.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=edcb6918a5b95b583f64951d8&id=9e4aba8a40&e=e62757964d) , to The Odyssey (https://miltonfreepubliclibrary.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=edcb6918a5b95b583f64951d8&id=e3effeb781&e=e62757964d) (and also available (https://miltonfreepubliclibrary.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=edcb6918a5b95b583f64951d8&id=971620f735&e=e62757964d) in reconstructed ancient Greek!) there is something for everyone to enjoy. With all this time at home, why not try your hand at writing your own poems? If you're looking for a way to feel more at ease with poetry, we've loved listening to Kwame Alexander and Rachel Martin on NPR's Morning Edition discuss and read poetry. Here's the link to a poem created in a recent poetry challenge titled, "Social Distancing" (https://miltonfreepubliclibrary.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=edcb6918a5b95b583f64951d8&id=f0081d2555&e=e62757964d) . We think it will resonate.
We're sharing lots on Facebook (https://miltonfreepubliclibrary.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=edcb6918a5b95b583f64951d8&id=9075a598b3&e=e62757964d) these days, and you don't need to be a Facebook user to view our page. If you want to comment or message us, you will need an account, but you can view all our links and information without one. If you do have an account, join us for Live bingo on Thursday, April 23 at 2 PM (https://miltonfreepubliclibrary.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=edcb6918a5b95b583f64951d8&id=00dd2dae95&e=e62757964d) . We want to feature your family's favorite children's books on our bingo cards, so please share them with us and request a card via Facebook or email (mailto:mfpl@metrocast.net?subject=Bingo) . We hope to "see" you then!
