ROCHESTER - Michael David Ahern, 88, died Thursday March 31, 2022, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital. He was Born in Lynn, Mass., on Jan. 11, 1934, the son of Maurice and Lena (Coleman) Ahern. He was the husband of Dianne (Faith) Ahern.

He had been employed as a mechanic with the MBTA

He was a veteran of the Army

He enjoyed hiking, geocaching (with 3465 finds), hunting, fishing, kayaking, and camping in Eustis, Maine. He climbed all the 4,000 footers in New Hampshire. Hiked the Appalachian Trail from Mount Katahdin to the NY CT border and was found hiking on Mount Washington more times than he could remember.

In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by his children, Maurice "Moe" Ahern and his wife Sandy of New Ipswich, Matthew Ahern and his partner Seasar Scafidi of Chelsea, Mass., Stepson John Little of Hinsdale,

Stepson Steven Little and his wife Mary Kate of Tewksbury, Mass.

He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was the brother of Maurice "Bill" Ahern and Lena (Ahern) Phillips both of Massachusetts, Victor Ahern of Maine, and the late Margaret "Peggy" (Ahern) Meggison.
