He was born February 11, 1946 in Rochester, N.H., the son of Harold Amero and Violet Jacques. He attended St. Leo's Catholic School in Gonic. Mick served in the Army as a mechanic from 1964-1967 and was stationed in Germany. Mick had a passion for speed; he raced dirt bikes on a Suzuki 185 and then turned that passion into racing cars. He went on to win many trophies in the Love Bug Division and Hobby Stock Division at local speedways. He and his daughter Michelle went to the races together often and were even able to participate in a few enduro races together at Star Speedway.

He loved time with family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren from watching NASCAR races, going out to eat, shooting guns, and talking about hunting and fishing.

On the outside, Mick was a wild man, but he was loving, caring and giving; always there for advice and a helping hand.

Surviving are his siblings, Jim Jacques of Gonic, NH, Jane Calef and her husband Jere of Barrington, NH, Donna John and her husband David of Wilsons Mills, ME; and his lady friend Lorraine Kenney of Sanford, ME.
