Milton 'career criminal' arrested on drug trafficking, weapons charges

DOVER - A Milton man is waking up behind bars today after his recent arrest on drug trafficking and weapons charges.
Jacob King, 42, of Milton, labeled a career criminal by law enforcement, was found to have large amounts of controlled drugs on him when arrested on Monday including 70 grams of fentanyl, methamphetamine, almost 400 assorted pills, 16 grams of mushrooms, and about $7,900 in cash.
Also in his possession was an AR-15-style rifle, said Maj. Steven Bourque of the Strafford County sheriff's department.
Monday's arrest involved work by the sheriff's problem-oriented policing unit, Homeland Security, U.S. marshals, Rockingham County sheriff's Office and Milton Police.
King was arraigned on Tuesday in Rochester District Court, where he was officially charged with a special felony charge of being a career criminal in possession of a firearm, two Class A felony drug charges and a Class B felony charge of controlled drugs.
King remains at Strafford County Jail with bail set at $10,000 cash or surety, jail personnel said today.
