Milton man arrested after being tabbed 'Fugitive of Week'

CONCORD - A Milton man named last week's "Fugitive of the Week" has surrendered to officials.

It was learned late last week that Thomas James Towle, 37, with a last known address in Milton, had contacted his attorney, who made arrangements with the Strafford and Carroll County Superior Courts to make his client available for court hearings in reference to ongoing narcotics cases.

Towle had been sought by both the Carroll County and the Strafford County Sheriff's Offices on two meth possession charges.

Prior attempts to arrest Towle were unsuccessful and the US Marshals were requested to assist in his apprehension.

"I am very pleased to hear that Mr. Towle made the right choice to contact his attorney and make arrangements to surrender to the courts," U.S. Marshal Nick Willard said. "This is the first step necessary to get this matter resolved and move on with his life."

Since the inception of the U.S. Marshals - New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 8,218 arrests.
