Milton Moose celebrates eve of opening with a successful food benefit

MILTON - Nearly $2,000 in cash and food donations was raised on Sunday during a fund-raiser at the Milton Moose to support food pantries in Lebanon, Maine, and Milton.

The benefit saw some 200 show up during the 1-3 p.m. event.

Entertainment was provided by the Texas Pete Band, while food was served by Smokin Lamps BBQ of Lebanon Minors Diner & Dairy Bar.

According to organizers WeCare Food Pantry of Milton and the Lebanon Food Pantry raised $815 apiece plus two full carloads of food items to each pantry.

Others who helped with the event include Fat Boys Concessions of Lebanon, The Milton Moose Lodge. Deborah Dorey Wilson, Cindy Emerson, Tabatha Butler, Darell Worell and Stu Burque.

The Milton Moose continues the good times today when they open for the first time since the Stay at Home order was enacted in March. The order sunsets today.
