MILTON - Milton Police say the town has suffered a rash of daytime house burglaries in the past month including two on Tuesday that occurred back to back in the area of Pineland Park and nearby St. James Avenue.

Milton Police Chief Richard Krauss reported that while officers were investigating a burglary inside Pineland Park on Tuesday another burglary was reported on St. James.

Krauss said since the beginning of November nine burglaries have been reported in Milton, including six in the Pineland Park/St. James area, one on Middleton Road, one on Farmington Road and one in Milton Mills.

Items stolen during the burglary spree range from televisions and prescription medication to firearms and vehicle batteries.

Police are urging citizens to report any suspicious activity in their neighborhood. "We would rather come out and find that it is nothing, then to not receive the call and have someone's home be burglarized," Krauss said.

Anyone with information on the recent burglaries in the area is requested to contact the Milton Police Department.

The department is also asking residents not to attempt to approach any possible suspects committing the burglaries as they may be armed. It is also asking that residents document the serial numbers on all of their electronic items and firearms.
