Milton Summer Kickoff gets off to flying start Saturday

MILTON - Those daredevils of outboard racing will be back in Milton this weekend with national championships on the line as the South Shore Outboard Association helps get Milton's Summer Kickoff kick-started at Town Beach both Saturday and Sunday.

The will be the association's 25^th anniversary of the championships, but it will be Milton's first time hosting it in the five years they've raced at Milton Three Ponds.

The Milton Town Beach will only be open for kick-off events, but there will not be any swimming or boat launch use during this event on either day.

Milton Town Beach/Boat Launch Passes will be on sale during this event at the gatehouse. The fee for admission to the beach for each day is a donation to the 2016 Milton Arts in the Park Summer Fest.

Any and all donations will be gratefully accepted at the gate.

There are additional fees if you are participating in either the speed boat races or the antique car show.

Registration: For all drivers SAT. 6/11/2016 REGISTRATION 9 A.M. - 10:30 A.M. Location: At boat ramp SUN 6/12/2016 REGISTRATION 9 AM- 10:00 A.M. Location: At boat ramp

Entry Fees: $30 per class for three classes per day. Fourth class or more are free.

Races will be held beginning at noon and will continue until finished (approximately between 3:30 - 4:00 pm.)

Race Classes: Saturday, June 11, 2016 & Sunday, June 12, 2016 Spectator Waivers Spectators will have to sign waivers in order to get an up-close look at the boats. This is a wonderful family sport with a wide age range of participants. Some of these families have been racing for several years and would love to share the love of their sport with our spectators.

Message from Milton Parks & Recreation The Milton Recreation Department would like to invite all or residents and neighbors to come down to the beach and see what a wonderful recreational resource we have available to us in Milton. If you haven't visited our beach in the past few years, you may notice the improvements that have been made to the property and enjoy the boat racing that our ancestors enjoyed in years gone by!

There will be assorted vendor on hand sharing information on their various organizations and fundraising for their groups as well, they will appreciate the support as well.

Saturday Activities - Gate opens at 9 am

Milton Cub Scouts Pack #155/Scout Troop #155 will be on hand selling assorted food throughout the weekend. Burgers and dogs, chips, soda, etc. to fundraise for their groups. This year will bring they are expanding their menu! So please support them

The Milton Fire Department & Milton Police Department will be on hand providing ambulance, police & fire support in the event that anything goes wrong. They will also have some of their apparatus on hand so that our families can get an up close look at the great equipment that the town has purchased over the last couple of years.

They will be on the baseball field.

10am-3pm--Camp 3 Ponds Registration

The Milton Recreation Department will have our Camp Three Ponds information available for those seeking to have their children attend this great summer opportunity for kids. Camp packets & weekly forms will be available on request. Help us plant the garden!
