STRAFFORD - Miriam Althea Burrows "Sis" 93, born August 17, 1930 in Plaistow, died peacefully Nov. 21,2023, at home surrounded by family and friends.

She was educated in the Strafford school district and graduated from Austin Cate Academy in 1948. She worked at Claristat for many years, spent years in healthcare, served as a head cook at Austin Cate Academy and Camp Foss. She spent several years butchering with her father. She loved to spend time traveling around town with her husband and raising her children. Spending time with her family is what she loved the most. She was a very adventurous woman with many stories to tell. She had a strong passion for people watching, as well as bird watching and chasing squirrels away from her feeders. She will always be remembered as a beloved wife, mother,sister,aunt and nana.

She is survived by three of her children, Althea Burrows of Strafford, Cynthia Chase and Sean Edeman of New Durham, Michael Chase of Rochester and Karen Doe of Rochester; Her beloved dog Baby Girl and guinea pigs Henry and Rose. She is also survived by her sister Nancy Towle of Dover her brother Wendell Huse of Marbury; Five grandchildren, Leslie and Micheal Ellsworth and family of Strafford, Rocky Chase-Burrows and family of Center Ossipee, Miriam Chase-Burrows and family of Rochester, Lindsay Chase and family of New Durham, Ryan Doe of Rochester Michael and Shannon Burrows and his family. As well as many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She is pre-deceased by her husband Edgar Burrows of 68 years, her parents Albert and Louise Huse, daughter Debra Burrows her son Eugene Burrows and brothers Victor, Clyde, Alan and William Huse.
