Morning crash snarls traffic near Milton Rd. flea market

ROCHESTER - A two-car accident snarled traffic on Milton Road today as both vehicle wound up in the southbound lane.

Several people involved in the collision appeared shaken in the immediate aftermath of the crash, which occurred around 9:40 a.m. in the area of 184 Milton Road in front of the Rochester Flea Market.

Police say the crash occured as a Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck driven by Dakota Smith, 20, of Rochester exited the parking lot of the flea market and began to turn left to head north toward Milton, but immediately spun out of control on the slick roadway and crossed back into the southbound lane where it was struck by a Nissan Versa driven by Mary Gentle, 63, of Milton.

Two Rochester Police cruisers were on the scene within five minutes followed close behind by a city fire truck, Frisbie ambulance and Fire Command Vehicle.

Police reported there were no injuries, but the Versa had to be towed.

The case is still under investigation at this time. Anyone with information about this collision is asked to contact the Rochester Police Department at 603-330-7128.
