Motorcyclist killed in Saturday crash at corner of South Main and Portland streets

ROCHESTER - A motorcyclist was killed on Saturday when they collided with a car at the corner of South Main and Portland streets.

The crash occurred around 7:40 p.m. by the old Royals Pizza.

The motorcycle operator was transported from the scene and later died at the hospital due to injuries sustained in the crash. Their name has not yet been released.

As a result of the accident, the roadway was shut down and traffic was diverted for several hours while emergency personnel tended to the scene.

Police, with assistance from the Strafford County Regional Technical Accident Reconstruction Team, continue to investigate the accident.
