Motorist declared dead at scene of East Kingston crash

EAST KINGSTON - A single-vehicle crash in East Kingston on Tuesday resulted in the death of the car's passenger.

The accident occurred in the area of Stumpfield Road near North Road around 10 p.m. when a 2009 Scion traveling south on Stumpfield Road left the roadway on the northbound side and struck a tree.

The passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead on scene. Their identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Timothy Grundy, 30, of Exeter, who received minor injuries.

New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (CAR) Unit was requested to respond and to assist at the scene. Stumpfield Road was closed for approximately four hours as a result of the investigation.
All aspects of this crash remain under investigation by State Police and no charges have been filed at this time. State Police is requesting that anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact the investigating trooper, Trooper Tyler Dodds at Tyler.M.Dodds@dos.nh.gov.
