FARMINGTON - Muriel J. Welsh, 85, died at her home on Nov. 17, 2023. She was born on Nov. 29, 1937, in Melrose, Mass., the daughter of Arthur and Dorothy (Ring) Mason. A resident of Kensington since 1962, Muriel grew up in Malden, Mass., and formerly resided in Exeter and Seabrook Beach.

She formerly worked as a secretary for Nichols in Exeter and later co-owned an excavation/trucking business with her late husband Richard Welsh, as well as the family farm. Muriel was a member of the Kensington Ladies Guild, and was a volunteer for the local school and library. In her spare time, she enjoyed many activities including gardening, sewing, craft making and knitting, but her main focus in life was always caring for her family.

She was predeceased by her husband Richard Welsh who died in 2015; and is survived by her daughter Pamela Welsh and her longtime companion Peter Reed of Kensington, her son Jeffrey Welsh of Kensington, her granddaughter Ashley King and her husband Cheston of Minong, Wisc., two great-grandchildren, Isabella and James King; and many friends.
