N.H. economy remains hot, adds more than 1,600 to labor force in Jan.

CONCORD - Today, New Hampshire Employment Security released the January 2020 jobs report, which shows that the state's labor force increased by 1,610 over the past month to an all-time high of 778,190. Following release of the report, Gov. Chris Sununu issued the following statement:

"New Hampshire's thriving workforce will serve as a solid foundation for further economic development, situating the Granite State well ahead of the rest of the country," Gov. Sununu said. "Our pro-growth, pro-jobs focus has proven a success, improving the quality of life for both New Hampshire families and the businesses that call the Granite State home."

758,250 New Hampshire residents are now employed, an increase of 8,650 in the past year. The labor force has grown by 9,360 in the past year.

Today's jobs data follows earlier reports of positive economic indicators, which show that New Hampshire is the number one state for economic freedom, has the lowest poverty rate in the nation over the last three years, is the most popular place in the Northeast for millennials to locate themselves, has more people working than ever before and is the number one state for taxpayer return on investment.
