N.J. man gets life without parole in Bedford double-murder

CONCORD - A New Jersey man pleaded guilty on Monday in the gruesome killing of two men at a Bedford hotel in August of last year.

Theodore Luckey, 43, of Asbury Park, N.J., was sentenced to life without parole for the murders of Nathan Cashman, 28, and David Hanford, 60, on Aug. 21, 2021, at the Country Inn and Suites.

Luckey pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder for purposely causing both deaths.

Cashman was killed by dozens of machete chop wounds to his head and body. Hanford died from strangulation.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant Attorneys General Scott D. Chase and Adam L. Woods of the Criminal Justice Bureau.
