New COVID-19 cases see a single-day high; local surge continues unabated

CONCORD - New DHHS data shows local current cases of COVID-19 spiking with 32 in Rochester and Durham and 59 in Dover.

Meanwhile, statewide 252 new positive test results for COVID-19 were identified on Thursday for a single-day pandemic high.

The single day spike was made higher due to about 50 tests being reported late from one of the national labs that does much of the state's testing.

The newly identified cases included 35 under the age of 18 and 32 from Strafford County.

Other local current case numbers include 11 in Barrington, eight in Somersworth and Farmington and 1-4 in Milton and Strafford.

Still, only one new hospitalized case was reported for a current total of 44.

DHHS also announced two additional deaths related to COVID-19, two Hillsborough County residents over 60.
