ROCHESTER - The owner and developer of a new hotel at the Lilac Mall in Rochester says his Home2 Suites could be open as soon as March of 2027.
Larry Raiche said he expects demolition of the former bingo hall and Great Bay College campus structures, including the removal of some asbestos from the site, will be completed by the end of this month and construction of the hotel will begin sometime next March.
The Home2 Suites brand features amenities and spaciousness that are designed for extended stays, with the 95 suites all coming with refrigerator, cookstove, microwave and dishwasher.
They also include use of an indoor pool and a free breakfast.
Raiche, who also owns the Holiday Inn Express & Suites on Route 11, said the three-story hotel will also have a function room that can accommodate 80-100 people.
"With the Hannaford right across the street it'll be very convenient for guests who want to cook their own meal," hs said.
Meanwhile, Granite State Bingo, which had been temporarily housed at the site of the former state liquor store, is now inside the Lilac Club Casino.
